My thanks to all those volunteers who work through the night putting these flowers on floats. After the parade there is an area where you can see the floats up close and personal.
Many people are not aware that blacks were soldiers in the Civil War. Actually, 180,000 slaves escaped and joined the Union army. The Confederates also had black soldiers toward the end of the war, but too little too late. These riders represent the "Buffalo Soldiers" Shadow Hill, CA.
